Innovation in conduct of  Programmes

  • Eminent personalities from the world of academics, media, bureaucracy, technocracy, and NGO are invited as Resource persons for the various programmes of ASC.

  • In the selection of themes for the academic programmes of ASC, subjects with inter-disciplinary focus and relating to the frontier area of study of the contemporary world namely, Gender Studies, Women Empowerment, Population Studies, Disaster Management, Ecology, Cultural Studies, History of Science, Technology, Medicine and Computer, Studies on Displacement and Development and Peace and Gandhian Studies are encouraged.

  • To ensure conduct of   value based and quality academic programmes, ASC, organizes special sessions on yoga, stress management, de-addiction and lectures delivered by psycho –analysts and social activists addressing issues and problems of contemporary society within the existing format of the academic programmes.

Programmes on Extension Mode:

ASC organizes surveys and excursions to different sites of knowledge like, museum, archives, architectural sites, zoological parks and botanical gardens for the broader benefits of the participants of the programme.

 Proposals:

a)       UGC needs to monitor the development of the Academic Staff College with regular periodic evaluation.

b)       The scope of activities of ASCs beyond conduct of OPs / RCs   may be widened by organizing Seminars / Conferences of National and International Standing along with the organization of a Research Scholar Workshop. However, the recent proposal by UGC to organize Summer School is a praise-worthy initiative.
